Job Title – Head Greens Superintendent

JOB POSTING Location – Pittsburg Kansas

Job Type – Full Time, year round Salary -- $55 - $70k (Based off Experience)

Crestwood Country Club is a full-service club featuring 18 holes, complete practice facility, swimming, Pickle ball and full-service dining. The golf course plays to approximately 6800 yards from the back tees. Zoysia tees and fairways, Bermuda and fescue roughs, numerous sand traps, water hazards and native grass areas are other course features.

Pittsburg is located in the far Southeast corner of the state. It is approximately 100 miles South of Kansas City, 30 miles from Joplin Missouri and 40 miles from the Oklahoma border. The population of Pittsburg is approximately 21,000 and growing. It is also home of Pittsburg State University.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and supervise golf course maintenance staff.

  • Maintain all areas of the property; golf course, landscaping, clubhouse grounds, pool grounds, and all other maintainable outdoor areas over the 160 acres.

  • Maintain all water features, lakes, streams, irrigation pond and system.

  • Apply technical knowledge and experience in the care of golf course grasses to provide consistent quality playing conditions.

  • Purchase needed supplies for your department.

  • Supervise work schedules of the crew to maximize productivity and adjust to daily needs.

  • Possess and apply knowledge of planting, cultivating, maintaining, and watering all grasses, plants and trees.

  • Possess and apply the knowledge to detect disease, insects and other turf issues and apply prevention methods and treatment.

  • Prepare reports as required or requested.

  • Follow all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to performing your duties.

  • Evaluate, repair and manage all club property and equipment.

  • Work closely with the GM/office staff to proper paper trails for purchasing, receiving and invoicing.

  • Assure proper course set up on a daily basis; pin and tee locations, mowing and detail work.

  • Carry oneself in a professional manner at all times.

  • Work closely with the GM, Golf/Greens Committee to ensure quality playing experience for all golfers.

  • Perform projects as assigned by the GM and Committee.

  • Attend Board and committee meetings as requested.
