Price Cutter Charity Championship Recap
/The 35th Price Cutter Charity Championship, presented by Dr. Pepper, was held from July 18th to the 21st. Matt McCarty was the winner with a score of 25 under, 263. With this win McCarty secured his PGA Tour card for 2025. The Price Cutter Charity Championship is one of the four original tournament stops that is still played on what was originally called the Ben Hogan tour, which was started in 1990. And one of only two that still use the same course.
The weather was not normal Price Cutter Charity Championship weather as the tournament was conducted in days in the 80’s. The crew worked exceptionally hard to get the course ready for play Thursday as Wednesday morning 2.5” of rain fell in a matter of hours. Luckily, they were spared the worst of it as south in Branson they were seeing 5 to 8” of rain.
Ozark Turf Association members and vendors volunteered their time to assist the Highland Springs Country Club agronomy team. The list of volunteers follows with thanks from host golf course superintendent Jonathan Prange, CGCS. Many of the vendors sponsored meals as well as worked on the course.
“I want to thank and recognize everyone who participated in helping my staff prepare for the Price Cutter Charity Championship. We would not be able to produce such high-quality conditions without volunteer help.

I feel very blessed to have received such an incredible amount of support. Thank you!”
I will add to also thank Ozark Prange, who was our morale booster, and Gorge Shipley who came back to visit with his owner Chase. Also, the brief appearances by the HSCC barn cats.
We hope to see everyone back in 2025.
