Work Schedule: Work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Job Summary: Assist in development, design, implementation, analysis and reporting of research. This job is to assist with field research preparation and management, greenhouse plants management, data collection and field plot maintenance, hoop house maintenance, etc. Supervise undergraduate workers and assist graduate students. Assist in maintaining good relations and communication with the floriculture industry, USDA personnel, departmental faculty and staff. Research greenhouses are part of USDA facilities. Assist in departmental functions.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's in Turf science, Horticulture or other plant science field
Two years’ of related experience. Knowledge of turfgrass and landscape research protocols, objectives, and equipment operation. Proficient in the use of data collection tools including digital cameras and light boxes, NDVI meters is preferred but not required. Ability to work outdoors during hot or cold climate weather conditions. Ability to maintain and repair hoop house structure, as needed.
Oklahoma pesticide applicator in categories 3a and/or 10 and the FAA remote pilot certificate or ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire. Valid Driver’s license.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Knowledge in computer, telephone, copier, audiovisual, power tools & hand tools. Proficient in MS word, excel, and PowerPoint. Public speaking ability. Writing ability.
Preferred: Master's in Turf science, Horticulture or other plant science field with 3-4 years experience which includes: competent in computer word processing, statistical analysis, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Experimental design, implementation, and analysis. Greenhouse maintenance and operations.
