Position Overview
California Country Club is seeking an experienced and dedicated Grounds Superintendent to lead the maintenance and enhancement of our golf course and surrounding landscapes. This role is critical to ensuring exceptional playing conditions and aesthetic appeal for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Turf & Landscape Management:
· Oversee all aspects of turf care for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs, including mowing, irrigation, aeration, and fertilization.
· Implement pest and disease control programs to maintain healthy turf.
· Manage bunker maintenance and ensure proper sand consistency and playability.
· Maintain landscape aesthetics across the property, including trees, shrubs, and ornamental areas.
Operational Leadership:
· Supervise and train grounds crew to ensure high standards of performance and safety.
· Develop and execute seasonal maintenance schedules and improvement plans.
· Monitor equipment usage and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Budget & Compliance:
· Manage department budget for labor, materials, and equipment.
· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for chemical applications.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in golf course maintenance or similar grounds management role.
· Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, irrigation systems, and pest management.
· Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
